Firefighters contained a haystack fire on a Madill Rd property near Undera on Monday afternoon.
Four tankers were called and fought for 40 minutes to bring the fire under control that started in a haystack of 168 bales.
The remnants of the fire were left to smoulder and the area was made safe.
Country Fire Authority District 22 duty officer Peter Dedman said there was a lot of moisture around and they were expecting to be called out to more fires where hay has combusted.
‘‘We urge people to be take due care when cutting and baling, keep a close eye on stacks,’’ Mr Dedman said.
