’Tis the season to enjoy a large slice of Christmas cake doused in thick custard or a dollop of cream.
The Shepparton Lions Club is once again selling its one-of-a-kind Christmas cakes in the lead up to the festive holiday.
Money raised from the sale of the cakes and puddings is the main source of funding for community projects the Lions Club contributes to.
‘‘All of the proceeds are poured back into the community,’’ Shepparton Lions Club secretary and treasurer Terry Collison said.
Over the years the sale of the cakes in Shepparton has helped contribute to a range of projects, including computer mapping at the Shepparton Cemetery and the installation of a pontoon at Victoria Park Lake.
Lions Club Australia cakes and puddings are available to purchase from a range of retailers in Shepparton.
These include John Anderson Pharmacy, Pot-Werx, The Shepparton Club and the Goulburn Murray Credit Union.
