Four Goulburn Valley Hockey Association youngsters will walk out with some of the world’s best hockey players in Melbourne tomorrow.
The four players, who were all part of the GVHA’s Under 11 competition from the 2016 season, will be involved with the pre-match ceremonies between Australia’s Hockeyroos and India from 2pm on Sunday.
The quartet will also be a part of the men’s bronze and gold medal matches at the State Netball and Hockey Centre.
Three players from Mooroopna, Chloe Robertson, Emily Brierley and Jackson Brierley, and one from SYC, Elyse Kerr, will make the trip on Sunday.
‘‘This is a great opportunity for young players to experience international hockey and get to meet some of their sporting heroes,’’ Mooroopna Hockey Club secretary Narelle Robertson said.
‘‘We really hope that this will keep the players coming back to Hockey for the coming seasons.’’
The festival has been going since Wednesday and features nations from Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and India.
