Live television broadcasts, Monopoly boards, historic vehicles, a pedal derby and pancake breakfast — it’s all going to be happening at the Cobram RACV Resort on Wednesday morning.
Channel 7’s Sunrise program will be broadcasting live from the site from 6am on Wednesday as part of a special morning on a road trip to launch the world’s first Caravan and Camping edition of Monopoly.
The Cobram RACV site is one of many across Australia to be featured on the board and Cobram and district residents are being urged to come down to be part of the festivities — and perhaps even make an appearance on the telly.
Sunrise’s weatherman Sam Mac will be broadcasting the national weather live from Cobram every half-hour from 6am, with community participation encouraged to help promote the region to a national audience.
Cobram RACV operations manager Steven Tatnell said it was perfect timing, with the resort looking fantastic following recent rain.
‘‘We’re extremely excited, especially with the redevelopment now complete and the new styles of cabins, including the garden cabins, now open,’’ he said.
‘‘We’re going to be on the new Camping and Caravan special edition of Monopoly, and we’re one of a few from Victoria, including ones at Echuca, Shepparton and Nagambie.
‘‘People may want to prepare big signs to hold up. They might be lucky enough to win one of the Monopoly boards that will be up for grabs as part of a number of giveaways on the day.’’
As well as the live broadcasting, there will also be a number of activities, including a pancake barbecue, a vintage car like the one from Monopoly putting around the resort, a pedal car derby and local Farm Gate Trail producers with their goods.
