Memorable day: Kyabram Pony Club's members celebrate the inaugural day of competition at Moora, the club's new home.

Kyabram Pony Club staged a successful inaugural event at Moora last weekend.

The horse trials were the first at the club’s new home since leaving Waranga Basin in July last year, ending a 40-plus year association.

More than 52 riders took on a series of events, including short course, combined training and a beginners’ event for the younger, less experienced riders.

The course proved to be testing for horse and rider, with many of the new jumps quite technical, and at the maximum height and width for each grade.

Co-founding club member Dorothy Miles was on hand to officially open the new horse trails grounds.

The move to Moora has seen the club have to start from scratch, relocating facilities (toilets, sheds) and jumps from Waranga during the past few months.

A magnificent effort from club members and parents has seen the huge task completed in impressive fashion.
