Shepparton golfer Jarrod Lyle continued his solid form with a tie for 44th place at the Australian Open on Sunday.
Lyle carded rounds of 72, 70, 73 and 72 for a one-under par score of 287 through 72 holes at Royal Sydney Golf Club.
‘‘It’s been a bit up and down for me,’’ Lyle told 2GB.
‘‘I got myself in a really good spot on Friday, but I came home leaking a lot of oil on Friday afternoon and never really picked it back up.
‘‘I played another four rounds and it has been a stepping stone for me.’’
It is the fourth consecutive cut made by the Goulburn Valley ace and has him 53rd on the PGA Tour of Australasia order of merit standings with earnings just shy of $30000.
Echuca golfer Jack Wilson had a fine week at the Open, finishing in a tie for 14th place on six-under par 282, closing out a fine campaign with a 69 on Sunday, his best round of the week.
