A fire destroyed two rear rooms and caused extensive heat damage to a Parkside Dve home after it started burning about 8pm on Monday.
A man was home alone asleep when the fire started but managed to get out of the house unharmed.
Country Fire Authority units from Shepparton and Mooroopna attended the fire and fought the blaze for an hour and a half before leaving the scene.
Ambulance and police were also dispatched to the incident.
Fire investigators attended the home yesterday, searching for the cause of the fire while police secured the site.
CFA district 22 duty officer Shane Sutton said investigations showed a burning candle was the cause of the fire.
