Diversity Project Shepparton has urged people to support AIDS Awareness Week as World Aids Day approaches.
The project, along with GV Pride, will host charitable donation spots and events throughout Shepparton during AIDS Awareness Week, which runs from November 21 to December 1, World Aids Day.
GV Pride spokesperson Damien Stevens asked people to buy a red ribbon and support the cause at Shepparton Marketplace from November 29-December 1.
Mr Stevens said all money raised would go toward the Victorian Aids Council and Living Positive Council to help those people living with HIV.
Mr Stevens said the aim was to educate the community about new information surrounding HIV.
‘‘I think it will be really wonderful to see lots of red ribbons being worn and I think it’s important that we all live a happy and healthy life,’’ Mr Stevens said.
GV Pride will host a walk on December 1 as part the awareness week.
The walk is free and will begin at Aquamoves at 5.30pm and will end at KidsTown.
